We celebrated Cinco de Mayo in a fun way last night. Last night our friends T-dizz (yes, we actually call him that) and Ado invited us and their families over for gender reveal party. (I had spilled the idea to A at our wine get-together last week)
A had her 20 week ultra sound that day, but instead of finding out the big news then, they had the technician write down the baby's gender and put it in an envelope.
Adrienne brought the secret (no peeking!) to a local bakery and had them fill the cake with either pink or blue frosting, depending on the answer.
She'd had a dream the night before that it was a boy, so she wore blue.
We all had dinner, voted on our guess and then anxiously awaited the cake cutting....
which revealed the pink underneath!
Here's a video of the exciting moment:
we're thrilled for them (and I'm starting to shop for all things ruffly)
Have a happy weekend!

This is seriously so so cute, I just teared up a bit. This 24-year-old, not-yet-engaged girl does NOT need baby fever right now!!
I absolutely positively LOVE this. I cried and I don't even know them! I saw this idea a few weeks ago and fell in love with how adorable it is.
p.s. I meant to say thanks for recording and posting this—it was really cool to see it actually happening!
This is the cutest thing ever.
Wow, that is SO cute. And sweet that they shared that moment with everyone.

what a great idea!
This is such a cute idea! Is this some kind of tradition that I missed the memo on? Or do lots of people do this?
Either way, announcing anything with cake is fantastic. :)
