Summer Work Shoes

oops! looks like part of this post accidentally went up last week...here it is in full.

I work in fairly conservative business casual office....in southern California.

This means that while I feel comfortable wearing open-toed shoes - I probably shouldn't come to work in something like this.

It's taken me a long time to find cute summer shoes I feel are appropriate for my work environment (and I only have maybe two pairs). I recently checked out the big Nordstrom summer sale online and found a few work-appropriate sandals and peeptoe pumps. I thought I would share a few that I added to my wish-list.

Do you ever struggle finding your style when following a work dress code?

wedding shoes are here!

DSW was having a sale. And I had a $10 off coupon. So i bought these beauties online, hoping they fit (I'm one of those always in between sizes) AND match the color of my dress (which is sort of an in-between ivory.

If they don't match my dress, the solution = dye them! I'm hoping for a bright pop of color to peep from under my dress. I wasn't sure if I'd be daring enough to do it, but if these don't match, I have the perfect excuse. Yes, my entire family and fiance will think it's ridiculous, but after receiving these perfect shoes in the mail, I'm not sending them back!

The more I look at these pictures (which were taken in low lighting) the more I think there is no way they'll match my dress! I won't find out until my next fitting in May. But they aren't as gold as they look here!

In the meantime I need to find the perfect shade just in case...I definitely don't want to dye them celadon (the color of my girls' dresses), but I don't know what color will coordinate with my ivory, sage and brown woodsy theme.

Right now, my only thought is teal. Any other color suggestions?

the wonderful world of shoes!

I am not a shoe person. I can identify with miss glitter, when she says she was content with $30 shoes until she became a bride-to-be. Suddenly I JUSTGOTTAHAVEIT syndrome crept in and I can't get enough shoes! I am seriously considering wear 3 pairs through the course of the wedding day. One for the ceremony, one for pictures, one for reception. Am I crazy?

Not when I am finding sexy shoes for $20-$60! At the very least I am thinking formal (but still sexy!) ivory shoes for the ceremony and something brown, satiny's and/or sparkly for the reception. (See my color palette below)

I am totally oblivious when it comes to brand names...I just don't care. I am all about a great deal and great shoes. (I realize this is not everyone, and I'm not hating!) But for those who just want cute feet and don't need to show off the name brand...this is the post for you!

Our wedding ceremony is going to be a traditional on in our church, and our reception is at a country club. I want it to be rustic, elegant, woodsy, romantic, with a touch of fairy-tale (think hansel and gretel)
