Ribs & Friends

On Friday night E and I hung out with some friends and decided to take them to a new barbecue place in town, Phil's.

Phil's BBQ is set up like one of my fav places in Chicago, Portillos. Something between fast food and sit down. You stand in line, order your food, wait for it and then seat yourself. But there is some table service, and the food is NOT fast food quality.

The smoky rib smell just sticks to your clothes.

We tried the chicken, ribs, and tri tip this time (E also loves the pulled pork)
You can't go wrong!

E always gives the most annoyingly fake smiles when he's not in the mood for a picture. ha

(ps. a lot of people ask me what I think of the beard. I have days that go both ways...
I think he's shooting for the Civil War General look. It's a guy phase, right?)

Also, in a crazy coincidence I was walking to get a drink and saw someone I knew I recognized. What do you know, it was Natalie from The Bobby Pin! I geeked out and had to say hello.

(No picture together because she was wedged in by friends)...but it was lovely to meet her! We made plans to get together again later this spring.

Loving the mountain man beard on E : ) Wish we could have a "we have fuzzy husbands" picture taken of us with bearded hubbies right NOW!
